Teacher Reflections
T- This experience has been a wonderful follow-up to the trip that we took to California. I am totally excited about all of the possibilities that technology has to enhance education. I am excited but still may lack the skills to get it all together. I get home and sit down at the computer and not know for sure where to begin. More hands on experiences would be awesome. We had some and thank you for that but maybe we need more so that we really do get to pod casting etc.
T-Having students involved was an excellent idea! They are a great resource and great help!
T-I believe this 3 day process has been an eye opening experience for myself and my student partner, Josh. He came with the knowledge of the iTouch and is a valuable resource. What I would like to see happen is to utilize Josh’s skills in our school setting and allow him to share with others the reasons that we should be using this technology in the classrooms. Also, I would like to see him use his skills to educate others and hopefully it will be the snowball! Mary Snowdon, Niobrara
T-I would love to see the ipads use instead of textbooks! There are so many more opportunities along with the textbooks that it just makes more sense. The workshop was great, the presenters very knowledgeable. There are times however when I am overwhelmed and things are still unclear.
T- I really enjoyed working with the students at a workshop. We rarely get the chance to listen to student input, especially regarding technology. It’s no secret that they often know more than the teacher. It only makes sense to listen to them and have them teach us something. I’m very excited to make podcasts for my students as well as have them make podcasts to share with teachers and fellow students. A challenge will be to get teachers on board and use the podcast producer. I enjoyed having “play time” during the day. This is a key element to any workshop. And, of course, the networking. I learned about several iPod apps that would apply to several classes of mine. Would have never heard about this if I hadn’t come to workshops.
T- The experience of the iPod workshop has been rewarding. From the perspective of someone who is extremely comfortable with technology and having the experience of seeing a variety of comfort levels with the iPods and how they have evolved through this process is encouraging. I thought the pace of the workshop and the amount of work time available was quite helpful. We all need a little time to digest each of the pieces and share our frustrations and help each other solve them. I hope we can continue to collaborate with each other and continue to develop new and powerful uses for education.
T-I felt like this was a great experience. It opened my eyes to some of the technology I was missing out on. I am excited about the possibilities for schools and how I can use what I learned in my classroom. I believe using the IPod touch in the classroom will bring a new excitement to learning for the students.
T-This was a great experience for both my student and me. It’s unbelievable how much my technology life has improved, expanded and grown. Working side by side with a student is the true meaning of team. Our school has benefited from this experience because of our networks. Our presenters were terrific because they are knowledgeable, yet gave us time to play and network. I’m confident that our ESU staff will always be there to help us when needed. We have keep moving forward. I can’t wait until next year.
T - this was a great experience for me and working with my student. My electronic life is growing at an unbelieveable pace. I am very proud of my partner and know that we have a great working relationship. She will definitely be my right hand techo partner. I really enjoyed working with our presenters and having the free time to team up with others.
Student Feedback
S- I think this process was beneficial so i could help other students, and some staff members, on how to make school work more fun while still being educational.
S-I really appreciate being invited to the workshop! It’s nice learning about the new technology of my era. It is my hope for the information that I have obtained here at this workshop to carry throughout my school. I have already shared at a teachers’ meeting, however I would like to do another for the students at my school. The people I met were very kind, the food, snacks, and drinks were awesome, and it was just an overall FUN experience! I am thankful for my teacher bringing me here. I am also thankful for everyone who put forth effort in putting on this workshop.
S-I learned a lot from the course of these 3 days. A major thing I learned was that Ipods can be used for more than just games! I really think that everyone except the textbook companies would benefit if we used an Ipad as a text book. These sessions were very well thought out and I just want to thank everyone who put their time into helping me learn.
S- I felt like it was a good learning experience, I would have never learned any of this if I had never been exposed to this team, I would love to have more sections so we could go more in-depth on the many subjects we covered.
S- Student - I think this process was beneficial so i could help other students, and some staff members, on how to make school work more fun while still being educational. I thought the spring iPod training was a wonderful experience and an eye opener to what the world of physical school materials is coming to with the uses of technology. I was really appreciative to be chosen for this event and would be more than glad to do something like this again anytime!
S- I have really enjoyed being involved with this workshop. It would be amazing if my school got iPods and iPads for the students. I think having new technology in schools would make students more enthusiastic about learning. This workshop was really fun. It was a great experience.
